I was given pretty much nothing to work with and a few hours to produce a program for a sweet lady’s memorial service. I was grateful for clip art, online poetry, and a Groucho Marx quote I remembered. The client was delighted to have it done quickly and thoughtfully, and suggested I offer this as part of my services. Why not?
I actually love doing one-offs like this. It’s like solving a puzzle to get all the client’s content in there! Looks like a cool event.
Artist Don Faia and I worked on this 24″ mandala as a gift from our colleague, Dave Bernard, to his friend and client, Dave Cianciulli. The mandala is an expression of Cianciulli’s stunning historic property in Ojai, CA, which he and his wife, Erica, are rennovating to become a Retreat Center. Details on that project to follow. Creative Direction: Don Faia • Production: BBCS
BBCS did NOT do the brand and artwork for this company, but we are involved in helping them with marketing efforts as they establish ground in the medicinal cannabis sector. Hälsa (love that umlaut key command) currently offers three roll-ons featuring top quality herb and flower essences and a full spectrum of 100% organic terpenes and cannabinoids. (100mg THC: 100mg CBD). Look for their über-premium products in 2017!
In my career as a copywriter, I have done a lot of naming, usually in the whimsical realm, like the billion dollar “C Monster” for Odwalla back in the ’80s (I earned about six bucks for that, thank you). I like to think we started something in the early days of authentic marketing, before Branding was a thing. Any hooooo. Aside from Jon Stewart’s recent name for a certain presidential candidate and the brilliant “other” name of the RRS Sir David Attenborough, I believe most of the good names are gone, which is why I resort to entertaining myself by harvesting names for bands. Each one has a story, for me anyway…

Keep an eye out, Oregon. This lighting design company is coming our way via Indiegogo. BBCS is excited to be involved on the ground floor, starting with their new logo. Stay tuned for developments.
